You must have been in the pack for at least two days in real life time before being initiated. If you have been inactive, haven't RPed, or just seen as not fit for initiation quite yet, you will wait.
The art of skulking has been used in multiple packs and has been passed down to the Maeror. It is a right of passage in the pack and initiation for a ranking. Some see it as irrelevant or perhaps not a proper test, though often times the skulking is adjusted for the ranking (example; Wolf must fight other challengers in the middle of their task if they are fighting rank)
Skulking is when a wolf goes out into the forest to a hunt a wolf that represents them. An example is a strong, hard headed wolf would perhaps hunt a bull elk, and a swift or jumpy wolf would hunt a rabbit. You can choose a more specific animal to represent you (for instance, someone chose a European Starling instead of just saying "a bird"). Once you hunt your animal, you bring the dead carcass back to the leaders or the ones who have assigned you your skulking and present to them your animal and why you have chosen the animal.
Once the others have approved of your animal, you may take a piece off of the carcass and wear it. This piece is known as a 'skulk.' Do not ever loose your skulk, for it is a status symbol and is as important a Maeror's insignis.
Some examples are the feathers of a bird, the foot of a rabbit, a piece of a horn from a bull elk, the tail of a fox, etc. Get creative and have fun with it.
Often times high ranks or important ranks such as a fighting rank are given a second test after their skulking, or even during, but this is up to those who give one the skulk.
